QuickBase Disability Adaption
The Project
A Northamptonshire
kidney patient was given a home dialysis room in double-quick time, thanks to
the award-winning QuickBase modular
foundation system.
The
objective was to create a room on the ground floor that the patient could
easily access throughout the day. It
wasn’t possible to adapt the existing house due to its layout. Moving house
completely was considered as an option but deemed to be disruptive to the
patient and very expensive.
The area Health Authority recommended QuickBase. Having seen the system
at a recent technical presentation, they’d seen that QuickBase is a rapid
building system. It was chosen as the
most efficient method of installing an engineered foundation to support the
“off-site” manufactured building, produced by PAB of Birmingham.
The patient
remained in their home while building works were completed. From start to finish, the foundations were
installed, the superstructure was constructed and the room was fitted out with
all required equipment – all in just 7 days.
