The buildings were been designed to Level 6 of the Code for Sustainable Homes and adopt the key concepts from PassivHaus including thermal mass, air tightness and insulation levels. The houses are expected to be the first to achieve both Level 6 of the Code for Sustainable Homes and PassivHaus Accreditation. The design included rainwater harvesting, solar thermal technology, photovoltaics, high levels of insulation and “Rehau” mechanical ventilation.
