Yarm Music School & Boat House
The Project
The £2.3m three storey Music School at Yarm School was completed in 2015. The building contains a 130 seat lecture theatre, music practice rooms, recording studio and a glazed link back to the existing school. The superstructure was constructed using reinforced concrete walls, columns and flat floor slabs. The roof consisted of flat lattice trusses. The substructure was constructed using piled foundations and a waterproof concrete basement forming the lecture theatre.
The £2.2m Boathouse and Astro Pitch was completed in 2015. The Boathouse constructed adjacent the River Tees consists of a steel frame and composite concrete floor slab supported by a ‘V’ shaped column at the front.
